Basic components for a journal article citation are:
- Author name
- Title of article
- Abbreviated Name of Journal
- You can find out what the abbreviated names are in the AMA Manual of Style section 13.10 Abbreviations. Names of Journals.
- Year of Publication
- Volume number
- Issue number
- Page numbers
- DOI
- If there is no DOI use date of access and URL
