Children's Literature

This guide will assist current and future educators explore and discover children's literature.

Finding Books by Topic with Keywords

Use URsearch to find children's books on a topic.

  1. Type in your topic.
  2. Choose a Scope: URsearch (searches our library and OhioLINK libraries) or Ursuline Collections (shows only what is in our library)
  3. Once your initial results appear use the Tweak Your Results options to limit by Location in Ursuline Library. Choose "Ralph M. Besse Library-Juvenile"

  • Publication Date
  • Source type

If you are not finding what you want in the Ursuline College Library collection, make the following adjustments to the search. This will allow you to locate titles at other OhioLINK libraries. 

  • Add "children's literature" as an additional keyword.
  • Add additional options to Limit by Subject as appropriate.

Another great place to find children's literature is the public library system, [link to be updated]

  1. Type in your topic and search.
  2. Under Format check Books and Journals.
  3. Add Tags as appropriate. Examples could include: picture books, juvenile works, children's stories.
