SW 101: Introduction to Social Work: Reference Books

The Besse Library has an extensive collection of  reference works in print and online as e-books.  Make sure to take full advantage of these collections, both in print and online.

Types of reference works include:

• subject guides
• encyclopedias on a specific topic
• biographical dictionaries
• directories (for people and associations)
• historical atlases and almanacs
• subject handbooks
• subject bibliographies

To find Reference Books in the Catalog; do a keyword search that looks similar to this:

   Handbook and (research topic keyword)  see an example

   encyclopedia and (research topic key word)

These searches will give you print and ebook resources.
