URsearch: How Do I?

The catalog shows that the item is available at another library, but when I sign in and try to request it, I get a message saying “No copies available” or "Resource sharing is only allowed under specific terms and  conditions"

Why is that?

In URsearch, Available means that the item is on the shelf ready to use. It does not mean that the item is available to be lent outside of the institution. 

• The OhioLINK library might not allow its copy to be borrowed outside of that school for a number of reasons.
• The items might be too old or fragile to be sent.
• It might be on reserve for a class at that school.
• It might be an ebook. Ebooks are not lendable between institutions.
• It might be a non-circulating item that is in reference or special collections, etc.
